INEC is proud to announce the return of the two-day comedy, music and film festival. Live on stage - September 14 and 15 2012 featuring the comic genius of Dylan Moran, Deirdre O’Kane, Neil Delamere, The Nualas, Gearoid Farrelly, Fred Cooke, PJ Gallagher and many more!
The craic will be storming and the laughter will be raucous as the INEC brings together sixteen top Irish and international comedians for a weekend of japes, jests, one-liners and wisecracks. And the fun does not stop there - late night comedy and live after-comedy music together with back to back episodes of Fawlty Towers in the Backstage Bar, ensure this will be an unmissable weekend treat.
The second Comedy Central Killarney will take place over two stages – The INEC Main stage and the Acoustic Stage - on Friday September 14 and Saturday September 15. Tickets for The INEC Main stage are priced at €27.65 for one evening. Tickets for Late Comedy in the Acoustic Club on Saturday 15 are priced at €17.65. There will be free live music in the Backstage Bar after the laughter, from Ruby Tuesday on Friday and Walking on Cars on Saturday. The Strypes will give a special performance in the Acoustic Club at the close of the festival and tickets for this will cost €10. A special weekend ticket of €45 will get you into all performances.

DYLAN MORAN
Dylan Moran first came to public attention when he won Channel 4’s So You Think You’re Funny followed three years later by the Perrier Award. Since those early stand-up beginnings Moran has had huge success as both a writer and a performer. The Simon Nye comedy, How Do You Want Me established him as a serious acting talent. Three series of the channel 4’s sitcom Black Books followed winning him a BAFTA and a Bronze Rose of Montreux before Moran turned his back on the huge financial incentives for a further series and lay grumpy Bernard and witless assistant Mani to rest. Moran‘s film career has included the smash hit ‘Rom-Com-Zom’ Shaun Of The Dead alongside Simon Pegg, The Actors opposite Michael Caine and Michael Gambon. Notting Hill, Michael Winterbottom A Cock and Bull Story, Run Fat Boy Run and A Film With Me In It. This year he became the first English speaking comedian to play St Petersburg.
DEIRDRE O'KANE
Deirdre O¹Kane became a stand-up comic in 1996 and was in the final of the BBC New Comedy Awards in Edinburgh. She continues to play that festival regularly as well as touring to Melbourne, Adelaide and Kilkenny International Festivals. She has also done gigs in The Middle East, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Prague, Brussels and London, where she now lives.
Her television career took off rapidly as she hosted a ten-part TV series of stand-up comedy and sketches called The Lounge (RTE). In 2003 Deirdre was described in the Sunday Times as “absolutely superb”, played the leading role of Helen in Paths to Freedom, a six-part spoof-documentary for RTE/BBC Choice. The following year she starred in the award-winning RTE series Fergus’s Wedding as well as appearing at the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal which was edited into a series for television hosted by Ed Byrne.
Her most recent appearance was in The Whistleblowers for Carnival Films/ITV and she has also been touring the hit one-woman show My Brilliant Divorce over the past two years.
JOHN COLLEARY
John Colleary is star and co writer of three times IFTA nominated The Savage Eye. His credits include appearances on Stand and Deliver & The Panel (RTE2), as well as being the writer/performer of popular slot Last Orders on Today FMs Last Word. He was voted sixth best comedian in Europe by Bail Out Monthly Magazine.
NEIL DELAMERE
Neil Delamere is one of the top acts working in the Irish comedy scene today, best known to audiences for his regular appearances on RTE¹s The Panel and BBC¹s The Blame Game. He has also featured on Michael McIntyre¹s Comedy Roadshow, Stand Up For The Week and Comedy Central at the Comedy Store. In 2012 the RTE documentary The Only Viking In The Village, written and presented by Neil won the Irish Film and Television Award for Best Factual Programme.
Neil has performed all over Ireland as well as at the prestigious Kilkenny Cat Laughs festival, the Montreal Just For Laughs Festival, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival where his shows received multiple 5 star reviews.
His DVDs have achieved platinum status and The 2nd Republic, hosted and devised by Neil debuted on RTE Radio 1 in 2012 and quickly became the most popular podcast in Ireland.
FRED COOKE
Fred Cooke has rapidly become a unique stand-up delivering a style of comedy that simply cannot be imitated.
He has contributed to a variety of successful Irish TV shows, both as a writer and performer, including RTE¹s Republic of Telly, The Cafe (as The Crazy Chef), Watch Your Language (The Mad Professor), The Savage Eye, The Modest Adventures of David O¹Doherty, and The Liffey Laughs. This year has seen Fred making his debut on English television in the second series of the BBC Show “Vexed”.
Fred has frequently been invited to perform at the largest and most successful festivals both here and abroad, including the Cat Laughs Comedy Festival, the Vodafone Comedy Carnival and The Trim Satire Festival. He is back for his second year at Edinburgh Fringe Festival and has supported his comedy hero, Ardal O¹Hanlon on his massive nationwide tour. Fred was also involved with the writing and co-production of the musical comedy City West Side Story.
ELEAMOR TIERNAN
Eleanor Tiernan is an original, honest and exciting comedian who is fast becoming a favourite with Irish audiences. She has performed at the Kilkenny Cat Laughs Comedy Festival, the Galway Comedy Festival, in Best of Irish at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, at the BudLight Comedy Revue and was a Semi-finalist in the Paramount Comedy’s So You Think You’re Funny? competition. Within just a year of starting stand-up Eleanor was asked to perform in Dublin’s Vicar St for the RTE production The Liffey Laughs, and BBC’s One Night Stand.
Eleanor has numerous TV credits to her name. She was part of a group of Irish comedians called Headwreckers that were selected to be part of Channel 4’s Comedy Lab series. She was featured in Maeve Higgins Fancy Vittles and she both wrote and performed in RTE’s The Savage Eye which received an IFTA nomination. Eleanor has appeared on The Panel, Republic of Telly and just recently performed stand-up on Tonight with Craig Doyle. She was the first act to feature on RTE’s flagship Stand and Deliver and recently wrote and performed on the political satirical show The Eleventh Hour.
GEAROID FARRELLY
Gearóid Farrelly’s comedy career got off to a flying start in 2008, when in the space of a few short weeks he was a finalist in the prestigious So You Think You¹re Funny? competition at the Edinburgh Festival and winner of Bulmers Nuthin Butt Funny Newcomer competition at the Bulmers festival in Dublin. He is now fast on his way to becoming a household name.
A polished live performer, he is a regular at Irish festivals (including Cat Laughs, the Vodafone Comedy Festival, Bulmers, Electric Picnic, Halloween Howls, and Galway Comedy Festival) and is a regular touring support to some of the country’s top names. His stand-up appearances for television include Stand & Deliver, Tonight With Craig Doyle and as a guest of Ardal O¹Hanlon for Dave’s One Night Stand.
On TV Gearóid is probably best known for playing the conjoined-twin of PJ Gallagher in Meet Your Neighbours. He also appeared on The Panel and has notched up numerous other appearances.
AIDAN BISHOP
Native New Yorker Aidan Bishop began his comedy career in his hometown however since relocating to Dublin he has become one of the top comics working today. As organizer and resident MC of the now famous International Comedy Club, he has honed his craft in the same room as some of Ireland¹s most famous comedians. In the past two years Aidan has appeared in all major Irish festivals, including the Kilkenny Cat Laughs and the Carlsberg Comedy Carnival.
In 2008 Aidan made his Edinburgh Fringe Festival Debut with his solo show and more recently in 2011 with critically acclaimed show Mispelled, a show that was born out of his experiences of dyslexia. His television debut came with RTE 2’s Savage Eye.
ERIC LALOR
Eric was crowned Irish Standup of the Year 2011 by the readers of entertainment.ie. A remarkable achievement given that he was up against some of the biggest names in Irish comedy.
His first foray into comedy was a bit unusual. In 2006, as one of the participants of RTE Two’s Des Bishop’s Joy In The Hood, his first ever gig was filmed on his home turf of Ballymun in Dublin and broadcast to the entire nation. Des went to Ballymun in search of new comedic talent and discovered Eric. He was so impressed with what he saw that he brought Eric on his record-breaking, nationwide Fitting In tour. Opening the show at Live at the Marquee in Cork, Eric performed to 5,000 people.
Since then, Eric has gone from strength to strength and has now garnered a reputation in Irish comedy as a consistent performer, making him one of the most sought after acts in the country. His first year in the highly competitive world of stand-up comedy saw him win the Comedy Cellar and Capital Comedy Club¹s Best Newcomer Award. Eric is now a regular act at the prestigious Kilkenny Cat Laughs Festival, as well as playing the Electric Picnic, Galway Comedy Festival, Edinburgh Fringe, Portlaoise Halloween Howls and Iveagh Gardens Festivals.
COLIN MURPHY
Colin has played sell out shows throughout Ireland and at the biggest and best comedy festivals around the world including Edinburgh, Melbourne, Montreal, and of course Kilkenny Cat Laughs. He has been an almost permanent fixture on Irish television for the last decade. From a long list of credits his highlights have included the five years he was the writer and presenter of, the highly regarded and critically acclaimed, Blizzard of Odd followed by a six year stint on the hugely successful The Panel for RTE.
On the BBC he is back as a regular panelist on topical news show The Blame Game and his own Great Unanswered Questions, which airs on television, BBC Radio Ulster and BBC Radio 4.
Colin has also acted in a wide range of productions from award winning BBC drama Holy Cross to the BAFTA nominated comedy series People Like Us.
PJ GALLAGHER
PJ has played sold out shows throughout Ireland and at the biggest and best comedy festivals that the country has to offer including, Montreal Comedy Festival, The Kilkenny Cat Laughs Comedy Festival and The Carlsberg Comedy Carnival.
He has been an almost permanent fixture on Irish television since Naked Camera arrived to RTE in 2005 and since then he has gone on to make his own series Makin' Jake, in the USA; documentary, Back in the Saddle, all about his exploits and adventures in his other passion of motorbike racing and the hilarious and sometimes outrageous hit TV show Meet the Neighbours, set in a Dublin suburb, PJ plays a host of colourful characters who make up this close-knit community. His TV appearances also include The Late Late Show, Tubridy Tonight, The Miriam O Callaghan Show and The Saturday Night Show, among others.
On 2FM, PJ has become a regular contributor to the Colm and Jim Breakfast Show where he can still pretend to be other people and characters, without having to show his face or get caught out!
BERNARD O'SHEA
Bernard won the Harp Newcomer Comedy Award in 2000 and performed in the BBC Newcomer Awards the same year. He was chosen to perform in The Montreal Just for Laughs comedy festival in 2005 and is also a regular at The Cat Laughs in Kilkenny. His Edinburgh Fringe debut received a five star review from The Scotsman in 08. He co-wrote TJ and TJ sketches on Today FM and co-hosted the Breakfast with Bernard and Keith Show on the Irish Radio Station. More recently he starred in The Republic of Telly on RTE.
CHRIS KENT

Multi-Award winning Comedian Chris Kent brings his positively charged, distinct humor to the stage. Kent¹s combination of charismatic flare and skilful comedic timing packs a knockout punch that will leave you aching for more.
Listed in The Dubliner magazine Red Hot and Rising as “one to watch for 2012”, Kent is no stranger to the big stage and is a regular in the Top Comedy Clubs around the country. His natural competence to perform has taken him to Vicar street, Cork Opera House, and The Olympia Theatre to name but a few, as well as all of Ireland’s major Comedy Festivals. He appeared on the full run of the Second Republic on RTE radio One, a panel show hosted by Neil Delamere
THE NUALAS
Ireland’s top all-female comedy singing sensations, The Nualas, are back. In a world where pop stars think nothing of singing in their underwear, The Nualas buck the trend by sporting proper, yet unbelievably glamorous, and shiny, stage attire. Expect original self-penned numbers, scintillating vocal harmony, ambitious choreography and a night packed solid with craic, laughter, tears, and chat (not necessarily in that order).
Last year The Nualas reformed, launching to great acclaim on The Late Late Show, with their debut song ‘Yummy Mummy Recession Blues’. They went on to storm festivals and venues alike, playing to packed audiences, reaping unanimous critical praise as they went. During their previous seven years together The Nualas completed six total-sell-out runs at the Edinburgh Festival and extended seasons in theatres in London, Dublin and New York. Expect Nuala favourites ‘Manolo’ and ‘Girl with a cabbage for a head’, alongside fabulous all-new classics, such as ‘The Sexy Farm Song’ and ‘Mummy Why Am I So Fat?’
Also appearing throughout the two day festival are Milton Jones and Barry Murphy with live music from Ruby Tuesday, Walking on Cars and The Strypes.
