Dieudonne

After the enormous success of his last show, "Patrick's Divorce", the comedian Dieudonné returns with his newest stage show "Sandrine".

Patrick has become a wounded animal, unable to accept the break-up with Sandrine.  He drifts into a hellish downward spiral of hatred and violence, leading to a lawsuit which is the subject of this comedy.

The contrast between the austere courtroom setting with its solemn conventions and the humorous scenes taking place in it sets up a tension that helps to reveal Patrick's character and his humanity. The courtroom setting makes it possible for Dieudonné to present us with a rogues' gallery of interesting and humorous characters....

The issues touched on, while sensitive, are more social than political on this occasion.  The world Dieudonné portrays here represents a return to his earlier apolitical comedic roots.
