Festival of Lights aka Diwali or Deepavali is  the most popular festival in South-East Asia to signify the triumph of good  over evil, knowledge over ignorance and light over darkness. The light  that empowers us to commit ourselves to good deeds, which brings us  closer to divinity.

Diwali commemorates the return of King Rama from his 14-year-long exile and vanquishing the demon-king Ravana. In joyous celebration of the return of their king, the people of Ayodhya, the Capital of Rama, illuminated the kingdom with earthen diyas(Traditional lamps). During Diwali, all the celebrants wear new clothes and share sweets and snacks with family members and friends and perform traditional activities together.

Throughout the day, performers will sprinkle the colour of festivity, signifying the festival of lights, in a show that will delight your senses and blow you away with :

Festival  of Lights in Ireland is supported by Dublin City Council as part of the  One City One People Campaign. As usual, festival is open to ALL and the main objective of this initiative is to use Festival of Lights  celebration as a platform to further cultural integration in Ireland.
