A prolific writer with an ever-expanding catalogue of songs, Joe Echo set out in 2008 to perform this new material live in preparation for the recording of his first solo album. As well as his own UK and Irish shows, he's recently supported, amongst others, The Script, Powderfinger, Eskimo Joe and James Morrison. He's co-written and recorded several songs with Paul Oakenfold and is featured vocalist on two of these songs on Paul's forthcoming album Pop Killer. Madonna's new single Celebration is co-written by Madonna with her producers Oakenfold and Ian Green, and Joe Echo. He's been writing and recording with Andy Cato and Tom Findlay of Groove Armada and has also been working on ideas with DJ/producers Armin Van Buuren and Deadmau5, amongst others. He produced and performed several songs in Philip Ridley's Heartless, a new movie starring Jim Sturgess scheduled for release towards the end of 2009 and another song will appear in the movie Wild Target starring Bill Nighy and Emily Blunt, to be released soon. He has recorded five songs with Producer Chris Potter (The Verve, Blur, The Feeling).
Snow Patrol's Gary Lightbody is quoted as saying, "Ciaran (Joe Echo) has one of the most extraordinary voices I've heard in a long time" and invited him to sing backing vocals on four tracks on their album Eyes Open. He is currently in the studio completing his album scheduled for early 2010 release.
