Tickets are now on sale for The World Fleadh 2007 which takes place in Portlaoise, Co. Laois from 6 to 12 August.
Confirmed to play at the World Fleadh are Katie Melua, Deacon Blue, The Proclaimers, Duke Special, Hothouse Flowers, Sandi Thom, Nizlopi, Carlos Nuñez, Salsa Celtica, The Duhks, Frankie Gavin & Hibernian Rhapsody, Patrick Street, Cherish The Ladies, Flook, Mícheál O Súilleabháin & Special Guests, Seamus Begley & Jim Murray, Alison Brown Quartet, At the Racket, Gráda, Tim Edey Band, Triona Marshall & Jon Pilatzke, Slide, Cora & Breda Smyth, Gary Dunne, Bill Coleman, Ise, Matt Cunningham Band, Kilfenora Céilí Band, The Commitments, Camembert Quartet and many more.
The World Fleadh 2007 commences on the bank holiday Monday 6 August and will run over a seven-day period in a custom built festival village in the host town of Portlaoise. The festival will comprise theatre, outdoor and large scale marquee performances, 13 céilí's, music, song and dance master classes, workshops and demonstrations, a scheduled session trail encompassing 20 venues, world title competitions, a world food & craft fair, two festival clubs and a variety of other fringe entertainments to cater for all tastes and ages.
