How to get to Newcastle Racecourse on a raceday
Bus Service

There will be a FREE bus hopper service from Regent Centre & Four Lane Ends Metro Stations on each raceday. The service will run from approximately two hours prior to the first race up to the first race.
After racing the FREE bus hopper service will run up to 1 hour after the last race to both Regent Centre & Four Lane Ends Metro Stations on each raceday.

By Road
Follow the brown and white tourist board signs bearing the horse and ride from the A1, A19 and main approach roads to the city.
Newcastle Racecourse is on the outskirts of Gosforth adjacent to The Marriott Hotel.
Car Parking is free of charge. Please allow extra time in travelling to The Racecourse.
By Air
If travelling by helicopter please contact the Racecourse Office on 0191 236 2020 Newcastle International Airport is situated 6 miles from Newcastle Racecourse.


All parking is free of charge although subject to availability.

By Taxi from Newcastle City Centre
There is a taxi rank outside Newcastle Central Station. A Taxi journey should take around 15-30 minutes to Newcastle Racecourse.

From Newcastle City Centre from Haymarket, Monument or Newcastle Central Metro Stations you can take the Metro, along the airport line to Regent Centre Metro Station.
You will then need to take a bus from Regent Centre Metro Station to Newcastle Racecourse.

Outside the Regent Centre at the bus stop straight in front of you, you can take the 42, 43, 44, 45 services. Check Boards for details.
If you asked to be dropped off at The Gosforth Park Hotel, which is beside the Racecourse.
Across the road you will see the gateposts of the Racecourse and the raceday signage, this is the top of the Racecourse drive.

Accessible Seating

Newcastle Racecourse aims to provide an accessible environment for all our racegoers, particularly those with disabilities. We provide disabled parking spaces and ramped access to each public Enclosure. Disabled toilets are available in both the Premier and Grandstand & Paddock Enclosure.

General Rules

The Premier Enclosure allows access to all public areas of the racecourse. Smart attire is preferred, no sportwear or trainers in the Premier Enclosure.

The Grandstand & Paddock Enclosure provides restricted access to public areas of the course. The Grandstand & Paddock does not have a dress code however the removal of shirts is not permitted.

Both enclosures include bar, food and betting facilities as well as superb racecourse views.
