Nearest rail: Durham Train Station.

The regular Durham Cathedral Bus stops directly outside the entrance to Palace Green Library. The Durham Cathedral Bus service runs between the railway station, Market Place and some car parks to and from Palace Green

Box Office Collection Accepted

Tickets on box office collection can be collected from Palace Green Library on the day of the event you are attending.

Accessible Seating

There is a platform lift from the main entrance to reception
The temporary exhibition galleries are on the ground floor
Also on the ground floor are an accessible toilet, shop and Barker Research Library
A further platform lift gives access to the Courtyard Café and Gillian Dickinson Learning Centre
A portable hearing loop is available
The Museum of Archaeology, in the first floor Wolfson Gallery, can be accessed by lift

Timed Entry Tickets
- Admission to the exhibition is by timed ticket
- Admissions are divided by half-hourly slots
- You can arrive at any time within your slot of which the time on your ticket is the start
- please be aware that each gallery space has a visitor capacity meaning that, in busy periods, you may be required to wait to go in

- Visits to the exhibition are self-guided
- There are 2 galleries to visit, as well as a third space containing an audio-visual and interactive opportunity
- To visit the whole exhibition is anticipated to take between 45 and 75 minutes
- No photography is allowed in the exhibition galleries

Cloakroom and lockers:
- Large bags will not be allowed into the exhibition galleries and, where possible, visitors should avoid bringing these
- Prams and pushchairs are allowed into the exhibition galleries but please take care and be aware that this access may be restricted in wet weather
- Lockers (requiring a refundable £1 coin) and staffed cloakroom facilities are available
- Wet coats and umbrellas will not be allowed into the exhibition and should be left in the cloakroom
