About

Bucket released ‘Hash Browns’ in early 2025, the cardinal single from their eagerly anticipated debut EP, ‘Muck’. The record’s release followed an industrious year for the band, driven by their increasingly infamous live shows across Ireland, the Netherlands, and France.

Following suit to 2024 singles ‘Budgie’ and ‘Who Knows?’, Hash Browns tells of two men, two breakfasts, and not nearly enough hash browns to go around. Driven by chugging drums and a rumbling, lopsided bassline, Hash Browns brings the band's signature chaos into full focus. Piercing guitars whirl frantically as the aggressive vocals tear through the tension, narrating a petty, yet primal, confrontation over the beloved breakfast side dish.

‘Muck’ is a testament to Bucket’s noteworthy reputation for a deafeningly rowdy yet refreshingly fun blend of garage, noise, and hardcore. The foundation, an overturning series of weighty drum lines and anxiety-inducing bass riffs, leaves margin for the piercing guitar lines and delay-ridden distorted vocal melodies that lay atop.Across the four-track mammoth, the band refuse to let up, leaving the listener winded from the very first beat. Expectedly dark and unusually comical, Muck confronts themes ranging from psychosis (‘The Living Bridge’ ) to sandwiches (‘ Hash Browns’ ).

Recorded live at B l ack Mountain Studios in Dundalk, ‘Muck’ was engineered & mixed by James Eager (The Scratch, YARD) with an intent to capture the band’s destructive live energy. Any additional production was by Keelan O’ Reilly (Post-Party). Mastering by Jamie Hyland (Mhaol, Gilla Band).

A project conceived by guitarist/vocalist Cian Dahdouh, bassist Emmett McNamee, and drummer Josh Dorrell, Dublin-based 3 piece Bucket seemingly appeared from nowhere with their debut album in the latter half 2021; breeding the DIY ethics of garage and punk rock, soon endowing a reputation for their sweaty live shows. The band's debut headline saw them sell out The Workman’s Club, soon playing an array of wall-to-wall DIY shows across Ireland.

2023 marked a shift in sonic direction for the band, embracing elements of noise rock and hardcore to forge a unique and shockingly abrasive sound. Often referred to as the loudest band in Dublin, Bucket aims to test the limits of volume and intensity, delivering a punishing live experience.

The last year alone has seen Bucket go from strength to strength, packing out headline shows in Dublin and Galway as well as playing support to the likes of Heavy Lungs, Press Club and Yard. Since signing with independent label house A Baker's Dozen, Bucket have released two stand alone singles to a welcomed reception; "Who Knows?" and "Budgie" serve as a statement of intent, aiming to introduce the new direction of the band and set the stage for what is to come.

Bucket kicked off 2024 with a flying start, playing to a sold out Whelan's main room at the "Ones to Watch" festival, supporting Mexican post-rock legends Austin TV as well as embarking on their ‘BROKE BUDGIES WORLD TOUR’ which saw the band headline Paris’ Super Sonic Club.
