DMA'S are coming to Dublin and Belfast this May 2023

Reading and Leeds main stage sets, touring with Kasabian, 65,000+ tickets in the UK alone, and a massive sold-out Australian tour. DMA’S world is one of acceptance, freedom of expression, collective high, and each twist -and turn in their journey to this point has led them to what will be a landmark album release for the band.

With their fourth studio album 'How Many Dreams?' is out in March 2023. DMA’S have ambitiously crafted a record that is the grand sum of every part of who DMA’S are. Gleaned from over 70 early demos, they draw from a wider sonic palette than ever before–chartering a course of dizzying highs and crushing lows. With songs to rave to and songs to cry to, it is DMA'S emerging from a darker place, and the exhilarating future sound of a band without barriers at the top of their game.

Across twelve tracks, How Many Dreams? weaves electronic dance elements seamlessly through the beloved foundations of guitar rock, punk, and lyricism of their highest charting album THE GLOW (2020), which peaked at #2 on the ARIA charts, #4 on the UK Official Albums Chart, and #1 in Scotland.

Vocalist Tommy O’Dell says they’ve pushed themselves harder than ever before on the fourth outing, one that hasn’t been without challenges. “We’ve made this a bit differently to other records. We’ve been more confident in the production department with our own skills. We also didn’t rush it either.” Recorded in London with Stuart Price (Dua Lipa, The Killers, Pet Shop Boys) and Rich Costey (Sigur Ros, Muse, Foster the People), the record was completed in the band’s hometown of Sydney with Konstantin Kersting (Mallrat, The Jungle Giants) at the helm.

With the same energy and wide-eyed freedom as the 2016 debut album Hill’s End, guitarist Johnny Took says the pressure that came with albums two and three left the studio. “There’s something super freeing when you make your first record, you’ve never made a record before and in a way, there is nothing to lose.

“Our palette for this album was a lot broader because we’ve learned so much since our debut and we’ve listened to so much more music between then and now, which has shaped us. It felt like a first outing all over again. The excitement was the same.”

In the years between, the band have found an iconic, mythical status among their fanbase–65,000 ticket sales on their last UK tour alone shows the open-armed response they elicit on international shores. The icing: a sold-out night at London’s Alexandra Palace, long-awaited appearances at Reading and Leeds, and their biggest ever Australian shows. The venues are far larger than those that first bore witness to ‘Delete’-and the band’s artistic evolution comfortably fills them. Guitarist Matt Mason says the record was crafted around the experience of the fans and-for the first time-with their euphoric live set front of mind. “We’ve tried to think about the people listening to it athome and how they might like this out there on stage.”
