About

The thousands of miles that troubadour Josh Okeefe has travelled from where he began to where he is now tell just one small part of a nomadic life in music which actually spans generations and encompasses myriad genres, traditions and disciplines. Although a relatively new artist, the young guitar-and-harmonica-playing singer-songwriter delivers unforgettably potent lyrics with the gravitas of a seasoned veteran.

Okeefe dropped out of school at 16, living briefly in numerous places, often sleeping on the floors of recording studios, music coffee houses, and small venues. Drawn to the places his musical heroes once roamed, he traveled to America and began writing at an astonishing pace. That journey shaped him into a formidable songwriter, amassing millions of streams and views, enthralling audiences worldwide with viral social media performances. His work has been recorded by a number of major-label recording artists—a testament to both his versatility and enduring appeal.

A magnetic performer with an undeniable presence, Okeefe has left his mark on some of the world’s most iconic stages alongside music’s most revered artists - one of the rare few to support Kris Kristofferson in concert; touring the U.S. with Glen Hansard in some of America’s most storied theaters; delivering a show-stopping guest appearance at Madison Square Garden during a Pearl Jam show; and making his mark at Glastonbury Festival alongside Billy Bragg. Most recently, Okeefe made a career-catapulting appearance on the legendary Newport Folk Festival main stage, joining a revered legacy of music icons and affirming his place in its lineage.

A rebel artist, a protest singer, the heir to your favorite folk legend or – when he's doing one of his lighter satirical numbers – a harmonica-tootin' Mr. Bean... with raw, topical storytelling and a voice that crackles with authenticity, Okeefe is all of those and more.
