About
Punjabi hip hop sensation Karan Aujla will play an Irish show on his It Was All A Dream world tour
Ghurala-born, Canadian-raised rapper Karan Aujla first started songs and raps at 14 to cope with grief and self-expression, before going on to write for Punjabi artists – Jassie Gill, Deep Jandu and Elly Mangat – in the early stages of his career. Citing Babbu Maan and Manmohan Waris as his inspirations for songwriting, the release of his breakthrough single 'Don't Worry (Ft Gurlez Akhtar)' allowed Aujla to take his place among the greats and establish a name of his own.
His debut album, BacTHAfuKUP (2021), marked a definitive career high, with its bold blend of R&B, hip hop and Punjabi folk songs, and features from Gurlez Akhtar, Tru-Skool, Harjit Harman and Amaal Nuux. Dubbed "India’s most prominent artist," Karan has achieved global success, with nearly two billion views on YouTube, over one billion audio streams, 10.5 million Spotify monthly listeners, and 14 charting records in the UK. Aujla's expansive discography showcases the universal appeal of music by blending Punjabi with hip hop, captivating listeners regardless of their spoken language.
After the release of his 2023 album, Making Memories, and his collaborative project, Street Dreams (2024), with DIVINE, Karan Aujla made history at the Juno Awards 2024 as the first Punjabi artist to win, taking home the Fan Choice Award an accolade. Now poised for his 2025 world tour, It Was All A Dream, Karan Aujla shows no signs of slowing down – a global influence is his goal.
