Movies and Musicals Live with RTÉ Concert Orchestra Tickets

Aedín Gormley’s beloved RTÉ lyric fm show Movies and Musicals returns to the stage in this special concert with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra led by conductor Stephen Bell.

A staple of the lyric fm schedule since the station’s inception in 1999, Movies and Musicals has since earned international acclaim and cultivated a devoted, enthusiastic audience. This dynamic live concert showcases the programme’s signature blend of music that spans cherished Hollywood classics, contemporary film scores and popular Broadway hits.

The RTÉ Concert Orchestra has been wowing audiences since 1948, building a strong connection with the public that saw it voted the World’s Favourite Orchestra 2015. The orchestra has performed with artists including Pavarotti, Lang Lang, Declan O’Rourke, Sinéad O’Connor, Imelda May, Andrea Corr and Jerry Fish as well as recording with Niall Horan and Riverdance to name but a few. The RTÉ CO’s collaboration with RTÉ 2fm and DJ Jenny Greene won the IMRO Outstanding Achievement Award 2018, and projects besides the David Bowie concerts that have made a strong impact in recent years include A Woman’s Heart Orchestrated, Guy Barker’s Gatsby & Beyond, tributes to Leonard Cohen and John Lennon, Max Richter’s Recomposed with Mari Samuelsen and a blues gig introduced by Morgan Freeman.
