TRAVEL BY ROAD: It is anticipated that, given the high number of spectators likely to attend The Open Championship, the surrounding road network will be busy. The Police are urging all motorists to use the designated traffic routes, which will be clearly signed by the AA. If visitors are travelling from the north, west and Edinburgh, please use the A1 dual carriageway towards Berwick-upon-Tweed. Coaches and Reserved car park label holders should exit at the A1 Bankton junction (A198 to North Berwick) and follow the AA signs to the course. All other cars should continue on the A1 and exit at Oak Tree Junction (Aberlady (A6137)) and thereafter follow signs to the Public Park and Ride car parks. All visitors approaching from the south and east should follow the A1 towards Edinburgh. Coaches and Reserved car park label holders should exit the A1 at Thistly Cross roundabout (A198 to North Berwick) and follow the appropriate colour coded signs. All other cars should continue on the A1 and exit at the Abbotsview junction (Athelstaneford (B1343)). Signs will direct drivers to the appropriate car park. Designated motorcycle parking will be available within the various car parks. Those ignoring the identified routes are likely to experience lengthy delays.
Weekly Car Park labels are available at a cost of £60.00. Daily Public car parking, payable in advance or on arrival, will cost £10.00 from Sunday 14 to Tuesday 16 July and £15.00 from Wednesday 17 to Sunday 21 July. Park and Ride operating times will be displayed on TheOpen.com. Daily coach parking, payable on arrival only, will cost £40.00. Please contact the Ticket Office for advice regarding car parking for spectators with disabilities or go to TheOpen.com. PARK AND RIDE: Designated routes will lead to Park and Ride facilities operating from all Public car parks. These facilities will reduce delays, allowing motorists to travel free to and from the course on the dedicated buses provided. Police officers will be on hand to assist with these journeys. Spectators are strongly encouraged to use the Park and Ride facilities to minimise disruption to local traffic and ensure a swift transfer to The Open Championship.
