About Paddy Courtney

Ten years ago he packed in his job as an accountant to pursue the life of comedy. He has packed in a lot in those ten years. His stand up comedy has brought him to multiple Edinburgh and Kilkenny Cat Laughs Festivals and he was a fan's favourite at last summer's Bud Lite Comedy Revue and at The Electric Picnic Comedy Tent.

He is Ireland's most sought after MC and ‘warm up acts' for both T.V. and live gigs.  Paddy has supported Keith Barry on all his Vicar St. shows to date and he blew the audience away with his performances on Podge and Rodge's ‘Desperate for Housewives' show over 30 nights in Vicar St and the Marquee in Cork, earlier this year. He was also the warm up act on the following T.V. shows: ‘The Podge & Rodge show', ‘Who wants to be a Millionaire', ‘The Late Late Show' and ‘Test The Nation'.

More recently, Paddy has branched out into acting and writing. He is one of the very few comedians performing today that have written and starred in their own six-part comedy drama.  ‘Paddywhackery' began a six-week run on TG4 on Oct 24 2007. It stars Hollywood legend Fionnula Flanagan as the ghost of Peig Sayers and Frank Kelly from Fr. Ted. The show has been receiving rave reviews from critics.
