About
Dale! Mr Worldwide is coming to Europe
Known for his iconic party-starting anthems and charismatic swagger, Pitbull has kept sight of his Miamian and Latin roots to become a truly global superstar with an incredible stage persona.
Pitbull (born Armando Christian Pérez) is a Cuban-American rapper, singer, songwriter and entrepreneur, celebrated for his culturally diverse sound that resonates with audiences all over the globe. To date, he has amassed more than 24 million studio albums and over 100 million singles worldwide.
Born and raised in Miami, Pitbull took an interest in music from a young age and was deeply inspired by his city’s dynamic music scene and melting pot of cultures. He grew up listening to Latin hip-hop and Miami bass, crediting the likes of artists such as Celia Cruz, Willy Chirino and Nas as formative influences on his own blend of reggaeton, crunk and hip-hop. Themes of resilience and ambition are prevalent in his music, inspired by his own journey from poverty to becoming a global success in the worlds of music, business, and philanthropy. Today, Pitbull is a proud advocate of accessible education for minorities, and runs SLAM!, a non-profit educational organisation providing free tuition to children in underrepresented communities.
Pitbull’s musical career began to take off in the early 2000s when rapper and producer Lil Jon gave him a feature on his 2002 album, Kings of Crunk. This led to Lil Jon producing Pitbull’s debut album M.I.A.M.I. in 2004, which was later followed by El Mariel (2006) and The Boatlift (2007). But it wasn’t until his fourth album, Pitbull Starring in Rebelution (2009), that Pitbull really had his big break. Featuring the singles ‘I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)’ and ‘Hotel Room Service’ (which peaked at numbers two and eight on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, respectively), the album’s success propelled Pitbull to international stardom and dance floors all over the world. It also sparked a departure from his nickname ‘Mr. 305’ (inspired by Miami’s area code) to ‘Mr. Worldwide’.
‘Give Me Everything’ (featuring Ne-Yo, Afrojack and Nayer), Pitbull’s first Billboard Hot 100 number one single arrived in 2011, taken from his pop-inspired album Planet Pit. Over the next decade, he released numerous hits featuring high-profile collaborations, from his 2012 track, ‘Feel This Moment’ (featuring Christina Aguilera), to 2013 single ‘Timber’ (featuring Kesha), and ‘We Are One (Ole Ola)’ (Jennifer Lopez and Claudia Leitte). The latter also served as the official theme of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, further serving to expand Pitbull’s already global appeal. During this time, he also made several guest appearances on hits such as Enrique Iglesias’ ‘I Like It’, Usher’s ‘DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love’, and Jennifer Lopez’s ‘On the Floor’.
With multiple Grammy and Billboard awards, and a dedicated international fanbase that transcends linguistic and cultural barriers, Pitbull’s impact on the music industry and popular culture in general has been significant. Known for his infectious energy during live shows and signature catchphrases like "Dale!", Pitbull has become not only a music icon but also a cultural ambassador, thanks to his fusion of Latin, American and global influences. Busy as ever, Pitbull released his twelfth studio album Trackhouse in 2023, featuring collaborations with T-Pain, Lil Jon, Nile Rogers and many more. The album shares its name with Pitbull’s NASCAR team, Trackhouse Racing.
