Lancashire Constabulary is urging all motorists to use the designated traffic routes, all of which will be clearly signed by the AA. If visitors are travelling from outside Lancashire, please use the M6 and travel to junction 32. At this junction follow the M55 to Blackpool. All public cars and coaches should continue on the M55 until they reach signs instructing them to leave the motorway. Signs will direct drivers to the appropriate car parks.
Drivers with Reserved parking labels should follow the appropriate colour coded 'Open' signs along the M55. Designated routes will lead to Park and Ride facilities operating from all Public car parks.
The Open Championship at Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club will be served by Ansdell & Fairhaven Station. This station is adjacent to the 9th green. From Wednesday 18 to Sunday 22 July inclusive, a dedicated service from Preston will terminate at Ansdell, with a rail replacement bus service then serving stations between Ansdell and Blackpool South. No pets are allowed at the course and we respectfully suggest that you do not leave your pet in the car. Step ladders or similar are not permitted within the paygates and should not be bought to the course. Cameras are not permitted on Championship days. Smoking and alcohol are not permitted on grandstands.

There are many licensed catering points both on course and within the Tented Village. There will be several complimentary left luggage facilities located throughout the Tented Village, operated on a first come, first served basis. Please note that security bag searches may be in operation. The Championship Information Centre, situated in the Tented Village, can offer assistance with travel and general enquiries, including information about The Open 2013 at Muirfield. Since 2006, mobile phones have been prohibited from The Open Championship venue. Following a review of this policy, contrary to the condition relating to “Attendance at Event”, a decision has been reached whereby mobile phones will be permitted at this year’s Open Championship. However a strict policy will be in place to ensure play is not disrupted in any way by this change. • All devices must be in SILENT mode at all times. • Calls must be placed or received in approved designated areas, referred to as “Mobile Device Zones”. • No audio or video capture is permitted at any time. • No still photography is permitted on Championship Days. • Data use (e.g. texting, e-mail, website access etc) is permitted throughout the golf course.
