TRAVEL BY ROAD : Kent County Council & Kent Police advise motorists travelling to The Open to use the designated routes, all of which will be clearly signposted by the AA. The designated routes are as follows: TRAVELLING FROM THE NORTH, EAST AND LONDON: Drivers shoul exit the M25 at Junction 2 and follow the A2 (M2) coastbound. At junction 7 of the M2, all vehicles should take the left hand slip lane and follow the AA signs, turning right on to the A2 (towards Canterbury/Dover). Drivers should follow the A2 towards Dover and the ferry terminal. Drivers will then be clearly directed towards their allocated car parks via either the A256 or the A258. TRAVELLING FROM THE WEST: Drivers should exit the M25 at junction 5 (M26) and then follow the M26 to join the M20 Coastbound towards Dover. All vehicles should exit the M20 at junction 7 and follow the A249 (Delting Hill) towards Sittingbourne. At the first traffic island all vehicles should take the left hand filter, following the AA signs, onto the M2 Coastbound. Follow the AA signs as routed above. TRAVELLING FROM ASHFORD AND DOVER: It is not recommended that any drivers, except for local traffic, use the M20, A20 route through dover town centre. Local traffic using this route should follow the AA signs on to the A2 (Jubilee Way) after which they will be clearly directed along either the A258 or the A256. TRAVELLING FROM EAST KENT: It is not recomended that any drivers, except for local traffic, use the A257 Sandwich Road (via wingham) or the A256 Sandwich road (from Thanet). Local traffic using this route should follow the AA signs. NOTE: There will be restricted access through Sandwich Town. BY RAIL: Connex will operate additional rail services to Sandwich and Deal. All reserved, public and coach parks will be signposted by the AA on all approach routes. If you have a Reserved car park label, please display this clearly as you approach Sandwich. WEEKLY CAR PARKING: Weekly Car Parking Pass labels are only available in advance from The Royal and Ancient Golf Club. Price : 35.00 (subject to availability). COST DAILY AT THE COURSE: Sun 13th : 3.00, Mon 14th & Tue 15th : 5.00, Wed 16th - Sun 20th : 8.00. COST DAILY PARK AND RIDE: Wed 16th - Sun 20th : 5.00. COST DAILY COACH PARKING: 30.00.

- Cameras can only be used on practice days. - Mobile phones must not be used while on the course or in grandstands. There will be several public telephone units located within the tented village. - Step ladders or similair are not permitted within the paygates and should not be brought to the course. - No pets are allowed on the course and we respectfully suggest that you do not leave your pet in the car.
Any juvenile (under 16 years of age on 13th July 2003) who is accompanied by a responsible adult will be admitted free of charge. Juvenile tickets (under 16 years) should be obtained prior to the Championship (up until 3rd July) by applying in writing to : Ticket Office, The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St.Andrews, Fife, KY16 9JD. Free golf lessons from PGA professionals will be available will be available for those aged under 16. Unfortunately there will be no Creche for children of the general public given the size of the expected crowd.
- The Championship Information Centre, situated within the Tented Village, can offer assistance with travel and general enquiries. - There will be several left luggage facilities located throughout the Tented Village, operated on a first come first served basis. - Scoreboards throughout the course and tented village will keep spectators fully informed. - Keep up to date with the golf action on the two large screens located in the tented village. - Full medical and first aid facilities will be available at several points around the course and in the tented village. - ATM (cashpoint) facilities. - Binoculars available for sale or hire from the Nikon Marquee in the Tented Village.
