Venue Information


Travelling by Road It is anticipated that given the high number of spectators attending the 145TH Open at Royal Troon, the surrounding network will be busy. To ensure the best possible flow of traffic, Police Scotland and Traffic Scotland are urging all motorists to use the designated traffic routes, which will be clearly signed by The AA. Visitors and spectators are advised to turn off their satellite navigation systems and follow the appropriate signage. Please note that there is no Public Parking available at the course. All public should follow signs for Public Parking. Directions From the North Following the M9, taking the exit to M80 Glasgow. Continue until you merge onto the M8. Fork left onto the M77 signed Kilmarnock & Prestwick Airport. Continue down the M77 which merges into the A77 and follow signs to the appropriate car park. From the North West (Argyllshire) A82 for Glasgow, A898, M898 and exit onto the M8 signed Paisley. At Junction 29 take the A737 to Irvine. Follow signs for the A78 to Prestwick Airport and follow signs to the appropriate car park. From Edinburgh & North East Take the M8 to Glasgow. Fork left onto the M77 signed Kilmarnock & Prestwick Airport. Continue down the M77 which merges into the A77 and follow signs to the appropriate car park. From the South Using the M6 continue onto the A74(M), M74 and merge with the M8. Fork left onto the M77 signed Kilmarnock & Prestwick Airport. Continue down the M77 which merges into the A77 and follow signs to the appropriate car park. From the South West (Dumfries & Galloway) Take the A77 towards Prestwick Airport. Continue up the A77 to A78 and follow signs to the appropriate car park.


Car Parking Daily Public Car Parking, payable in advance or on arrival, will cost £10.00 from Sunday 10 to Tuesday 12 July and £15.00 from Wednesday 13 to Sunday 17 July. A limited number of Weekly Car Park passes are available at a cost of £60.00. Weekly passes are only available in advance. Using the Park & Ride All public parking will be located at park and rides facilities. Designated routes signed Public Parking will lead to Park & Ride facilities. These facilities will reduce delays, allowing motorists to travel to and from the course on dedicated buses. Spectators are urged to use these facilities to minimise disruption to local traffic and ensure a swift transfer to and from The 145th Open. If you have purchased parking in advance please follow the information provided within your ticket pack. Please note that vehicles with a seating capacity in excess of 9 seats will be directed to park at the coach park. No camping or overnight parking will be allowed at any official Championship car parks. Motorbike Parking Motorbikes are requested to park in official Public car parks and will be charged £5. Coach Parking Vehicles exceeding 8 meters in length and/or a seat capacity greater than 22 seats will be charged £40 per day and are asked to park in the Coach Park. Mini Bus Parking Vehicles measuring between 5 meters and 7.99 meters in length and/or a seat capacity between 10 and 22 seats will be charged £25 per day and are asked to park in the Coach Park.

Public Transportation

Travelling by Air Royal Troon is served by Prestwick Airport (4 miles) Glasgow Airport (39 miles) and Edinburgh Airport (72 miles). Details regarding helipad operations or private jets will be displayed here in due course. Travelling by Rail Working with ScotRail a Golflink ticket has been created to provide a convenient way to take you straight to the heart of the action. A Golflink ticket provides all-inclusive train travel to Troon station plus a bus link to the course. ScotRail will be providing an enhanced rail service. More details will be available approximately 8 weeks prior to the Championship. Travelling by Bicycle A designated Bicycle Park will be located near to the course. Cyclists are encouraged to follow the cycle paths to Troon and signage will direct you to the bicycle park. Please note that bicycles are not allowed into The Open and are left at the Bicycle Park at owners’ risk. Travelling by sea Royal Troon is served by the Port of Troon. Further details of services available to and from the Port with be available in due course

Accessible Seating

The Open endeavours to provide a standard of accessible facilities for all visitors and spectators. Wheelchair accessible stands will be available in designated areas around the course. Some areas on the golf course are unsuitable for many spectators, with rough and sloping ground which can become soft and slippery in wet conditions. However a tarmac or shale path loops around the whole course and most holes have areas suitable viewing areas for wheelchair users. Marshals have been requested to assist in asking spectators to allow wheelchair users to access the front of the rope line where possible. Accessible toilets will be provided in the Spectator Village and on course and the majority of catering facilities, merchandise tents and spectator experience areas will be accessible for wheelchair users. Please do... • Remember to wear appropriate footwear and clothing • Be considerate to others Please don't... • Forget your sunscreen and your umbrella! • Bring pets • Bring stepladders or similar Mobile Device & Camera Policy A strict policy will be in place to ensure play is not disrupted in any way. • All devices must be in SILENT mode at all times • Calls must be placed or received in approved designated areas, referred to as "Mobile Device Zones" • No audio or video capture is permitted at any time • No still photography is permitted on Championship Days • Data use (e.g. texting, e-mail, website access, etc) is permitted throughout the golf course. Volume must be muted at all times Spectators who breach any provision of this policy will be subject to the terms and conditions of ticket sales.

Children Rules

Junior Tickets - Terms and Conditions ("Kids Go Free") 1. Children under 16 years of age on 9 July 2016 cannot attend The Open unless accompanied by a responsible adult who holds a valid course admission ticket (Adult or Youth (16-21 years)). Children under 16 years of age on the above date are eligible for "Kids Go Free" Junior tickets which are available either on a pre-booked basis or at the pay gate in accordance with the following: 2. Applications for pre-booked Junior tickets must be submitted by a responsible adult who holds a valid course admission ticket (Adult or Youth (16-21 years)) and who will accompany the Junior while in attendance at The Open Championship ("The Open"). 3. Applications must be submitted prior to The Open (before 24 June 2016) by applying in writing to: The Open Ticket Office, The R&A, St Andrews, Fife, KY16 9JD. The application should be accompanied by a suitable form of age identification (e.g. letter from school or golf club) for each child applying for a "Kids Go Free" Junior ticket. Please state which day(s) the Junior(s) wishes to attend and the number of tickets required. 4. A Junior who arrives at the pay gate without a pre-booked "Kids Go Free" Junior ticket, but who is accompanied by a responsible adult who holds a valid course admission ticket (Adult or Youth (16-21 years)), will be admitted free of charge on the day and will be given the appropriate ticket at the pay gate. 5. Where you are the responsible adult accompanying a Junior for the purposes of that child obtaining a "Kids Go Free" Junior ticket, you are responsible for the supervision of that child during the event and for ensuring that they comply with the terms and conditions that apply to your ticket.


Autograph Area To assist players and spectators, a specific autograph area will be designated and clearly signposted. Banking Service A full service HSBC branch will be available in the Spectator Village. Binocular Hire Nikon is a Patron of The Open and a full range of binoculars is available for hire from the Nikon Marquee in the Spectator Village. Large Screens Keep up-to-date with all the action through one of the many electronic leaderboards situated around the course. Or relax and watch the day unfold on the large video screens located in the Spectator Village area. Left Luggage Facilities There will be several complimentary left luggage facilities located throughout the Spectator Village, operated on a first come, first served basis. Please note that security bag searches may be in operation. Food & Drink Enjoy a wide selection of food and drink at one of our many licensed catering points both on the course and within the Spectator Village. Official Programmes Programmes may be purchased from kiosks at The Open. In addition, they will be available by post from Friday 8 July 2016.
