The Cure are headlining Glasgow Summer Sessions 2019. Set to take place on 16 August 2019 at Bellahouston Park, the gig will be The Cure’s first show in Scotland in 27 years and is sure to be one of the most anticipated festival sets of the summer.
Formed in the aftermath of Punk Rock's explosion in Britain in the 1970s, the Cure have become on of the most enduring British bands of modern times, influencing a sphere of musicians and paving the way for the Goth movement.
They have released a series of classic albums since 1979, ranging from the dark introspection of Pornography to the more pop oriented efforts like The Head on the Door and Wish.
Hit singles for the band in their five-decade career include Friday I'm in Love, Just Like Heaven, Lovesong and Lullaby.
Whilst new music may have taken a backseat in recent years, the live shows have certainly not. The Cure have made regular appearances on festival stages as well as headlined their own shows around the world. Their performance at Glasgow Summer Sessions in August will see the band headline a Scottish festival for the first time ever.
