About
The Script
After 10 billion streams, 12 million album sales, six UK #1 albums and two Platinum-certified US singles, The Script returned with the release of their album ‘Satellites’ in August 2024.
The Script were on a high – a glorious, global high, and rightly so. With worldwide streams numbering 10 billion, 12 million albums sold, two platinum-selling US singles, six Number One UK albums and global ticket sales north of three million, the Irish band were touring the planet with their greatest hits collection Tales From The Script. It was 2022 and, 16 years after Danny O’Donoghue, Mark Sheehan and Glen Power formed the band in Dublin, this was a well-earned victory lap for a much-loved band.
Vowing to pay tribute to their friend by continuing the band they had built together, vocalist Danny O’Donoghue returned to the studio and experimented in a number of ways: using 808s and playing with R&B-inspired sounds, focusing on upbeats sonics, and co-writing with hitmakers Steve Robson (Rascal Flatts, Take That) and Wayne Hector (One Direction, Nicki Minaj) as well as bandmate Glen Power. What emerged is ‘Satellites’, an utterly uplifting collection of songs that forges a new future for The Script while remembering that although Mark may no longer be here, he remains a vital part of everything that they do.
