About
Badly Drawn Boy brings his first Irish show in 5 years to The National Stadium.
Mercury Music winning artist Badly Drawn Boy has announced a headline Dublin show as part of his “25 Years of Badly Drawn Boy” series of gigs. The show will feature a career-spanning set of hits and fan favourites as well as being his first Irish show in 5 years.
Bolton-born singer/songwriter Badly Drawn Boy aka Damon Gough, best recognised by his signature tea cosy hats, began his career after meeting DJ Andy Votel, launching the independent record label Twisted Nerve and releasing a number of well-received EPs in the late 1990s. Gough would follow these up with a debut album in 2000 titled "The Hour of Bewilderbeast" which won the Mercury Music Prize. Off the back of this success, he recorded the soundtrack for the 2002 hit film "About a Boy", starring Hugh Grant.
Gough kept adding to his eclectic discography, with subsequent albums being released over the span of the next two decades including "Have You Fed The Fish?", "One Plus One Is One", "Born In The U.K", "Is There Nothing We Could Do?" and his most recent project, the critically acclaimed "Banana Skin Shoes" from 2020.
