About
Cooper Alan – To The Pub Tour
Known just as much for emphatic anthems as much as his cheeky and dextrous delivery, Cooper Alan bring a modern and independent spirit to country rock.
Born in Winston-Salem in North Carolina, Alan cut his teeth playing honkey tonk in Nashville, where he moved after college and where he would soon meet producer/songwriter Victoria Shaw. Shaw offered him a publishing deal and nurtured his green artistry while helping him to find authenticity. Early results included his debut single 'Climate Change' in 2019, which cleverly highlighted the environmental crisis in the context of a fluctuating relationship. The song proved quite the breakout, so a year later Alan turned his attention again to other pressing current issues, releasing 'New Normal', turning a pandemic phrase into a sweet and tender love song.
'New Normal' was a viral sensation, racking up 70,000 Spotify streams on its first day – to say nothing of its reach on social media. Riding this wave of attention and keen to show new sides to himself beyond the sweet and socially conscious, Alan released lighter hearted tracks such as a country cover of Afroman's 'Colt 45', and the self-deprecating 'Can't Dance', all while pulling in elements of other genres to create modern country sound. In June 2021, Cooper and Shaw partnered to create their own label, Cooped Up Records, allowing Alan to maintain creative control of his burgeoning journey.
With two EPs under his belt, Take Forever (2023) and Feel Like Hell Today (2024), Alan's awaited full-length album is set for release in November 2025. As well as a nod to his hometown, Winston-Salem can be interpreted of an album of two halves, reflecting the complimenting energies and styles of his artistry. "You gotta have the reflection, but you gotta have the party," Cooper reflects in a statement. "Any given week you’re going to want to cry, then hug someone and tell them you love them, and then go to the bar and have a beer because you busted your ass all week."
