About

Growing up in the town of Stretford, Greater Manchester, Lusaint never thought a career in music was possible. Fast forward and Lusaint has dispelled her own theory by clocking over seventy million streams to date and proving herself as one of the UK’s most hottest newcomers.

Lusaint knew she could sing from an early age. As a teenager, she would dig through her parents’ extensive music collection. Amongst the pile of Motown, it was the jazz and blues sounds of Ella Fitzgerald and Nina Simone that pulled her in.

At school, she was quiet-natured and inherently shy, but found confidence to audition for school plays landing lead roles along the way. College and university followed where she studied Fashion whilst working in retail to support herself, but never really doing anything with her singing talent.

Lusaint became inspired by a friend who was making money from playing small gigs around town and made her own demos featuring cover tracks like ‘Feeling Good’ and ‘I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel To Be Free’ by Nina Simone. She went from bars and restaurants landing two to three gigs every week along with releasing covers online.

In 2019, everything changed. Lusaint’s cover of En Vogue ‘Don’t Let Go’was discovered by a music supervisor, subsequently airing on a popular UK TV show and being crowned the most Shazam’d song in one day in the UK with over 45,000 Shazam’s and a No. 1 in the UK Shazam Charts. This also followed with a cover of ‘Wicked Game’ which to date has generated over 20 million views on YouTube alone, gaining Lusaint an astonishing fan base.

Having generated over fifty million (2021) streams from releasing covers, Lusaint signed with UK management and independent record label Heavenly Fire and 2022 became the year of Lusaint’s original music debut. With her timeless and distinctive voice, Lusaint took her first stab at songwriting, writing from past relationship experiences, her own mental health to even her addiction to sugar! Then came producer Blue May who’s credits include the likes of George Fitzgerald, Joy Crookes and Kano. Blue helped glue and shape Lusaint’s songs and sound, giving her a fresh modern soul and pop feel which complimented her songs and voice perfectly. Then came Grammy nominated mixing and mastering engineer Kevin Grainger, creating the perfect addition to a perfect A team, Lusaint’s debut EP ‘Self Sabotage’ was born!

In February 2023 Lusaint releases her first debut original with ‘Dark Horse’, written with legendary writer and producer Eg White, who’s credits are a who’s who of A list stars including Adele, P!nk, Florence and the Machine, Paloma Faith to name a few. Immediately Lusaint saw support from her local BBC Introducing in Manchester followed by BBC Radio 1 support from Victoria Jane on Future Soul. The track was also included in New Music Friday and New Pop UK on Spotify along with TikTok in their ‘New Music’ playlist ‘Polished and meticulously crafted, but also brimming with emotional resonance and raw honesty” - quoted Wonderland Magazine.

Next came ‘Fool For You’ in April 2023. A blend of soul & pop with luxurious stunning melodies  and catchy lyrics delivered by Lusaint’s incredible vocal tones. Fool For You was instantly crowned a ‘Producer’s Pick’ by BBC Introducing Manchester followed by multiple plays on BBC Radio 1 with support from Victoria Jane, Future Artists and Dean & Vicky, racking up over five plays on Radio 1 in total. Further support came in from BBC Radio Manchester from the likes of Becky Want, Emily Brobyn, Eamon O’Neal and was added to the A list across BBC’s local playlist network across 39 stations. The track quickly reached 1 million streams globally and was added to over ten editorial playlists across all major streaming platforms on launch.

Lusaint’s music then started to travel overseas, starting in France, with early adopters coming on board such as Europe 2, Hit West, Tonic Radio, Scoop and NRJ Pop. In Italy 'Fool For You' reached #31 in the Top 100 Shazam Chart and #41 in the Italian National Radio Airplay chart. To date, Fool For You has racked up over 140,000 Shazam’s worldwide. The 'Fool For You' music video was also added and supported by Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch in the UK and MTV and VH1 in Italy.

During the summer of 2023 through to fall and whilst 'Fool For You' continued to grow in the UK and Europe, Lusaint took her first steps in performing her original music at well-known venues around the UK such as Notting Hill Arts Club, Soup Kitchen, Band On The Wall and The Troubadour as well as a special private show for high end fashion brand Dior at Gleneagles in Scotland.

Jump to November 2023 and Lusaint releases her last track of the year with ‘Dream Life’ a sweet and innocent jazz pop song perfect for the winter months. Praise is given instantly, with Lusaint garnering her first editorial playlist cover on Spotify in Jazz Club and over 13 editorial playlists across Apple, Deezer, YouTube and Tidal. Dream Life then saw multiple rotations from BBC Introducing Manchester and BBC Radio 1’s Mollie King on Future Pop who said;

Lusaint continued to perform live and supported fellow Mancunian Liam Fray at The Albert Hall in Manchester. Ending the year on a high, Lusaint’s music got her a special invite by high end fashion brand Chanel to their exclusive invite-only Manchester Fashion show event with Chanel styling Lusaint head to toe.

With a new year comes another new track and Lusaint releases ‘Sweet Tooth’ in February 2024 – a dark and moody sound where Lusaint sings about her addiction to sugar! This then followed with a wrath of radio support in France across 30 different stations such as Radio Nova, RTL 2, Europe 1, Europe 2, Radio 6, Tonic, Imagine and more and an interview and feature in Rolling Stone Magazine.

'Sweet Tooth' then spreads further into Europe including Greece with over 40 stations adding the record alongside the video on MTV and reaching #38 in the Top 100 Shazam chart followed by Italy, Switzerland and Poland causing the track to rack up over 2.5 million streams globally. Lusaint is then awarded a PPL Momentum Fund by PRS Foundation, a grant provided by the UK’s biggest music collection society for songwriters to help fund Lusaint’s next EP.

The support captures the attention of One Fiinix Live and agents Jon Ollier and Bex Wedlake signing Lusaint to their roster of talent. Bookings then appear thick and fast including The Great Escape, Neighbourhood Festival, Cosmic Cape, Boardmasters, BBC Introducing London, Paper Dress Vintage, Band On The Wall along with support slots for the likes of RAYE & Tom Grennan at Metronome Festival in Prague and Jess Glynne at The Wyldes.
